Saginaw, Michigan – Duperon Corporation has been honored with the receipt of the 2008 Corp! Magazine Economic Bright Spot in Michigan award. The recognition is given to Michigan businesses in an emerging growth sector, and celebrates expansion, economic development, and the decision to forward business in Michigan. The award was presented at a breakfast reception at the Michigan State University Management Education Center in Troy, Michigan on June 11, 2008. Tammy Bernier, Vice President and COO of Duperon Corporation, traveled to accept the award.
The awards reception also featured a panel discussion on Michigan’s future economy and best practices, conducted by four of the Michigan winners. Panel facilitator Richard Bloom is a founding partner of Bloom Asset Management, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor firm that manages more than $800 million in assets. In addition, he is partner of Bloom, Bloom & Associates Law Firm, as well as the host of a twice-weekly radio show, “The Rick Bloom Show”. The panel included: Phil Bahr, The Rehmann Group; Tammy Bernier, Duperon Corporation; Michael Cebulski, Comcast; and Antoine Debeauclard, Media Genesis.
“There was no doubt that you were in a room full of entrepreneurs,” Bernier stated. “Frankly, it was great. You could see that people were generating their businesses in spite of an economy or other circumstances. On the panel, it was clear that all had invested their people, culture and innovation to achieve success. I also really acknowledge the work of Corp! Magazine that assures that there is much good to brag about in Michigan. After all, we are the state in which the automobile was invented, factories were transformed, and a whole new world was created. We can do it again.”
Bernier as always acknowledges that the award would not have been possible without the involvement of several partner resources: Saginaw Future, Inc.; East Central Revolving Loan; 1st State Bank; Buena Vista Township; the United States Department of Commerce and U.S. Commercial Services; and the Saginaw Valley Manufacturers’ Association.
“It is an honor to accept this award on behalf of our company. It is always rewarding to be acknowledged for the hard work and dedication that the team brings to the company every day. They are unstoppable,” Bernier declared.
