Saginaw, Michigan – Terry Duperon, CEO of Duperon Corporation, has been honored with the receipt of the 2008 John G. Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year award, presented by the Michigan Manufacturers’ Association. The recognition is given to manufacturing executives who have displayed exceptional leadership, entrepreneurial ability, and service to their communities. Duperon is the overall winner in the small-tier category, which recognizes executives with fewer than 500 employees. The award was presented during a lunch at the association’s third annual CEO forum at the Henry Center for Executive Development in Lansing, Michigan on Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
Duperon Corporation itself was recently honored with the receipt of Corp! Magazine’s Michigan Economic Bright Spot award. Presented to a Michigan business in an emerging growth sector, the award celebrates expansion, economic development, and the decision to forward business in Michigan.
Duperon acknowledges the awards would not have been possible without the involvement of several resources: Saginaw Future, Inc.; East Central Revolving Loan; 1st State Bank; Buena Vista Township; the United States Department of Commerce and U.S. Commercial Services; and the Saginaw Valley Manufacturers’ Association.
“In this global economy, the new technology curve is almost exponential. It requires all of us to reinvent ourselves and our departments, every year,” relates Duperon. “That entrepreneurial ability, that skill set, is what enables us to handle our growth.”
