Saginaw, MI – On June 9, 2011 Terry Duperon, Chairman of the Board of Duperon Corporation, was honored as a semifinalist in the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in the Industrial Services category at the MGM Grand in Detroit. Duperon was one of the semifinalists chosen from the Michigan/Northwest Ohio region out of more than 1,700 applicants.
For the past 25 years, Ernst & Young has been celebrating entrepreneurs through regional Entrepreneur of the Year programs. The programs seek to recognize “entrepreneurs who take risks and possess the vision to lead in uncertain economic times, and who boldly innovate where established companies fear to tread, hire when others lay off, and increase product development when others cut back,” relays Jamie Simpson, Entrepreneur of the Year Program Director for Michigan and Northwest Ohio.
An entrepreneur who established Duperon Corporation in 1985, Duperon certainly fits the bill. The company has always been geared toward research and development, even before there were enough employees to establish it as a department. Accountable for the company’s product line, Duperon is often heard saying that his goal is to “obsolete ourselves every seven to ten years…if we don’t, someone else certainly will.” This philosophy has proven itself to be sound, as Duperon Corporation has achieved continual year-over-year growth, with several of those years topping 25% growth.
Duperon has extended his passion for entrepreneurial skills beyond Duperon Corporation, offering a course called Duperon Education to teach the concept to employees and members of the wider community.
Duperon Corporation is the leader in preliminary liquids/solids separation technologies and provides technologies for coarse screening, fine screening, low flow screening, ultra screening, washing compacting, and conveying. Duperon technologies are designed and manufactured in Saginaw, Michigan.
