On November 16, 2016, Duperon Corporation joined forces with several area businesses to make a difference for the children of mid-Michigan. The annual Saginaw Spirit Education Game Day event drew approximately 2,600 students from around the Great Lakes Bay region. Students were able to enjoy a morning of educational experiments and experiences sponsored by local organizations such as Duperon Corporation, Covenant Healthcare, Nexteer and Dow. The educational content was designed to engage attendees in the topics of clean water, electricity, personal health and fitness, finances, and the arts – among many others.
The day of exhibits and education concluded with an OHL hockey game featuring Saginaw's own Spirit team in competition with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
"We are honored to be working in partnership with so many great organizations from the Great Lakes Bay region," said Tammy Bernier, CEO of Duperon Corporation. "These organizations – and the caring individuals who volunteer – make huge differences for the people of our community, as does the Saginaw Spirit team."
The Saginaw Spirit Education Game Day provided area students with the opportunity to explore experiments – and career paths – they may not have previously considered, and allows Duperon to promote what they consider to be their mission: Making a Global Difference. "Participating in this event gives us the chance to speak to our local students about the planet's most precious resource – water," explained Vicki Popp, Marketing Project Manager for Duperon Corporation. "We know that making a global difference begins at home, and there are many young people here that we know could contribute to that mission. It's fun every year, and we love seeing the students!" she concluded.
